Extra Curricular
Chessed
Our weekly chessed program is comprised of a variety of placements
including: working with large families, children with special needs and tutoring
elementary school students. In addition once a month students have the
opportunity to do chessed in institutions and orginisations such as respite
centres, soup kitchens and Tzedakah food packaging.
Over the course of the
chessed program students utilize their past experience and expertise while
developing new interpersonal skills in situations that prove to be mutually
beneficial. Additionally, students devote their talents toward organizing
specific tzedakah and chessed projects throughout the year.
Tiyulim
As known, The only way one can truly gain an appreciation of and love
for Eretz Yisrael is by taking the time to get to know it. In addition to the
classroom time spent in our required Yediat Ha’aretz course, we go on a wide
variety of tiyulim throughout the academic year. Aside from our monthly trips
taken to places of interest – both historical and contemporary– we run several
overnight tiyulim spanning the breadth of the Land. From the Golan to Eilat and
in between, these trips, together with the professional tour guides who lead
them, become highlights of the year, and help solidify the group’s unique
experience of Eretz Yisrael.
Trip to Russia
In memory of our dear friend Chanie Kolodny ò"ä, our seminary decided to participate in the Achos Hatmimim program for a duration of six weeks.
Every week each girl has to accumulate a minimum of 350 points through a certain amount of learning, as well as growing in Chassidishkeit and tznius, in order to be placed in a raffle to win a trip to Russia/Ukraine on ë"ã èáú to visit the kevarim of tzaddikim, including the Baal Shem Tov, the Maggid of Mezritch and the Alter Rebbe.
To help fund the trip, girls could also be involved in fundraising; the more money raised, the more tickets could be purchased to be selected out of the raffle.
So far the Achos Hatmimim program has fared well, every girl participating wholeheartedly and with a lot of fervour and effort being put into every piece of learning. There is a tremendous amount of excitement and we hope that through all the learning and spiritual uplifting we will bring Moshiach now!
