Rabbi Shmuel Gurewicz and his wife Chava were sent by the Lubavitche Rebbe to Melbourne Australia 35 years ago. Rabbi Gurewicz was sent especially from the Holy land with the mission of becoming principal of the Chabbad girls school in Melbourne, Beth Rivkah Ladies College, which has become one of the most successful schools in Australia. This is as the Rebbe wrote to Rabbi Gurewicz "that there will be success beyond the natural order." Rabbi Gurewicz merited receiving specialized, detailed instructions and guidance from the Rebbe on educating young Jewish women in general, and Chabbad girls in particular.

Rabbi Gurewicz decided to open an educational framework for young Chabbad women in the Eretz Yisrael, as instructed by the Rebbe in his last letter to him "to influence in every place his hand reaches" Thus Michlelet Morasha was founded.
