Our Name

The name of our institution is borrowed from the famous posuk “תורה צוה לנו משה מורשה קהילת יעקב“. This Posuk, required by Jewish law to be the first posuk taught to a youngchild, and chosen by the Rebbe as the first of the twelve pesukim to bememorized by all children, exemplifies our goals. The meaning of this posuk, asilluminated by chassidus, is that all of the Torah in its entirety and with allof its multiple layers is the inheritance of each and every Jew and the legacythat we are required to pass on to the next generation. Who is better positionedto bring this obligation to fruition than an institute of higher learning forwoman? !
